Getting Started with CorelDRAW Welcome Page

CorelDRAW has a simple user interface. After installing the software, launch it. A pop windows appear. You can either Sign in or Create an Account. If you don not want to be a member of Corel CONNECT, you have to use Close at the bottom of the window. If you create an account with Corel Connect, you can have either have Standard Membership or Premier
Membership. Premier Membership has monthly subscription fee and you have access to all features. Standard Membership guarantees you access to all fonts, cliparts etc.


Welcome Screen
After going through the sign up process, you launch the Welcome Screen. Here, you can create a new document, update your software or get answers to your questions.


Get Started: You can create a new document here or open an already existing document or template
Workspace: This determine the appearance of your user interface. There are many options under the workspace. 
  • Lite: It has few features
  • Classic and Default: They have similar workspace. Classic however looks more like older version of the software
  • Advanced: The features are good for Illustration (for book cover design, magazines and storybooks) and Page Layout (for documents that combine texts and graphic elements such as business card, product packaging, branding and multi page documents as brochures and newsletters
  • Others: Works like Adobe Illustrator interface.

What's New: This option helps to guide you through short list of articles about new features in CorelDraw and how to use them

Membership and Subscription: Without membership, you will not have access to several features such as fronts, and other media content
