After creating your work in Illustrator, the next step is to save your work or export it to various formats that can be accessed using other image editing software. To save files which we can re-open and edit any time in Illustrator, you can use any of the AI (Adobe Illustrator traditional file format), Adobe PDF, EPS, FXG, and SVG as the formats.
However, if you export your work, Illustrator allows you to export your artwork in 13 different file formats, including Flash, Photoshop, Bitmap, JPEG, and PNG (If you want to access your work with Microsoft Office, use Save for Microsoft Office command). Exporting our work helps us to make it available for other programs to use. A template is a format that ends with AIT, used to save files you want to re-use the same settings
