adidas logo design

In this tutorial, we will create the Adidas trefoil logo using CorelDRAW X7. The Adidas logo has undergone several changes to the original logo. The evolution and changes to the logo have helped cement their place as a household name and one of the best sportswear and equipment maker.

Step One

Create a new document on CorelDRAW using CTRL + N shortcut

Step Two

Create an ellipse using the Ellipse tool. Drag with this tool on the document while creating to create a constrained ellipse. With the ellipse selected, go to the property panel and use 6 for both the width and height. Press Enter key on the keyboard to apply.

Step Three
Select the circle with the Pick tool. Use the shortcut CTRL + D to duplicate the circle. Use the Pick tool to move the circles to overlap as shown in the image below

Use CTRL + A to select both circles. Then go to the Shaping options and choose Intersect from the various options (Weld, Trim, Intersect, Simplify etc).

Select the different portions of the circle that we do not need and delete them one after the other using Delete key on the keyboard

You will be left with a leaf-shaped icon

Step Four

Select the icon and use the color palette to fill the icon with green color

Select the shape with the Pick tool and use CTRL + D to duplicate the logo. Select the duplicate, go to the property bar and change the Angle of rotation to 320. Hit Enter key on the keyboard.

Duplicate the original shape again and change the Angle of rotation to 40

Step Five

Arrange the three shapes properly.

Select the whole shapes using CTRL + A. Group all the shapes using CTRL + G. Go to the property panel and change the width to 6.5 and height 4.5 of the grouped objects. Hit Enter key

Step Six

Go to the Rectangle tool. Draw a rectangle. Go to the property panel and change the width and height to 7.0 and 0.255 respectively. Draw another rectangle of width and height set at 7.00 and 0.244 respectively. The last rectangle will have a width and height of 7.00 and 0.233 respectively.

Place the three rectangles in order with the first one created above the rest. Make sure they are uniformly spaced between each other.

Step Seven

Select the whole shapes in the screen using CTRL + A. Go to the Shaping option again. Choose Trim. It will help us cut out portions from the leaf-shaped icons using our rectangle

After trimming, use the Pick tool to select each rectangle. Use the Delete key to remove each of them

Step Eight

Select the Type tool. Go to the font list in the property panel and choose Century Gothic as the typeface. Choose the Bold and use the font size 120

I will change the color of our logo to black (the widely used variant) by using the color palette
